Looking inside Angelique's home: Scandinavian design with a colorful twist
We take a look in Helmond, in the atmospheric house of Angelique, where she lives with her husband and two children. The interior consists of a unique mix of Scandinavian design and fresh colors.
A colourful home
Angelique works as an administrative employee, but has had a great passion for interior design from a young age. The family has been living in this home for 8.5 years now, where the walls regularly change colour, which creates a dynamic and fresh look. On Instagram, @Lieks_home has been sharing inspiring photos for more than ten years, in which the Scandinavian style and love for fresh colours come to life. This dedication even earned her the VT Wonen Best Advanced Award!
Scandinavian with colour
The interior style can be described as a combination of Scandinavian, modern elements and fresh colours. Straight lines are combined with playful details and fresh shades such as pink and green. The result is a style that looks timeless to Angelique and is at the same time lively and inviting. She gets her inspiration from VT Wonen, interior shops and Pinterest. She uses the latter for her DIY projects.
“When something is good, it is good and I don't have to renew it!”
Modular sofa Vita
The modular sofa Vita is a stylish eye-catcher in the living room. After some doubts about the colour, the green colour ‘Fern Olive’ turned out to fit seamlessly into the colourful Scandinavian interior. The elongated layout of this modular sofa provides a practical and spacious appearance, while the loose footstool offers extra flexibility without looking clumsy. The combination of style and comfort makes the modular sofa Vita a favourite piece of furniture!
“It looks timeless and fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of the house.”
Favorites
In the colorful Scandinavian home, the Vita modular sofa and the dining table are without a doubt Angelique's two favorite places. Whether it's relaxing on the couch or having a nice dinner with friends, both places are used with pleasure! A special item is grandma's tea cabinet, in which she displays a collection of colorful vases. This special piece gives the house extra warmth and character. Curious about more favorites? Interior tips from Angelique
A personal interior is created by daring to experiment with colour. Let a chosen shade subtly return in accessories such as cushions or candles for a coherent whole. Symmetry in accessories can look a bit static; working with groups of three or five creates a dynamic effect. Height differences also provide a surprising result.
Finally, Angelique wants to say that creating a mood board helps to visualise ideas, puzzle until everything fits together perfectly!
