Take a look inside the Japandi interior of @living.bylau

Creative Phuong has been living in Beilen with her three-year-old daughter Yuna for a few months now. They have traded the hustle and bustle of the city of Rotterdam for the tranquillity of Drenthe. The detached house she has moved into has been given a neutral, Japandi interior.

A place to rest

For about seven years, Phuong lived in a newly built house in Rotterdam. Back then, with industrial and colourful furnishings. She wanted to move closer to her twin sister in Drenthe. After some odd jobs, she could finally move into her new house and start working on her big hobby: interior design. It had to be a place to really unwind. She therefore describes her style as neutral, tone-on-tone, Japandi and, above all, relaxing.

From inspirations to DIY projects

As a nurse anaesthetist in the operating theatre, she has an important job that involves a lot of responsibility. ‘If I get a call in the middle of the night, I have to be ready immediately. Maybe that's precisely why I need more of a place to unwind.’ Besides her part-time job, she enjoys spending time and love on her home. This used to consist of changing the wallpaper and accessories in the room. Nowadays, this has grown into an inspiration account on Instagram, where she not only shares photos of her interiors, but also takes followers through her DIY projects.

Sofa Odin in Crushed Silk

Before the arrival of sofa Odin, there were two bouclé armchairs in the room. To create more seating space, Phuong opted for the airy corner sofa. Why Odin? The sofa has nice shapes, looks tough and the higher legs still make it seem airy in the room. She is very happy with the fabric and the colour Crushed Silk. The choice was made on the basis of colour samples and it turned out beautifully!

Home is where family is

Since the move, Phuong likes to ride her bike to visit her sister or a friend. Little Yuna also has plenty of play dates in the village. With her sister, she has a close relationship. Together, they make ceramics for the house. She can also use her creativity in DIY projects. A real go-getter, she likes to be busy. In the future, she would like to spend more time on these DIY projects. There are still plenty of ideas for this!

Marble coffee table

At the moment, the marble coffee table in the living room is the favourite item in the house. The pendant lamp above it is also a real eye-catcher in the house. The house was not immediately fully styled to her liking. Over the months, new items were constantly added that she was sure; this fits perfectly! In the future, tackling the garden is still on the to-do list where the interior design will be continued outside. For now, she is already very happy and is thoroughly enjoying her new home.
